On sunsets we say hi to the moon

A fragment of hope: for something hopeless, for someone hopeful.

One look at your picture,
And chaos in my mind disappeared.
You brought peace to my solitude;
Something I have been longing for all my life.

I spoke of your name,
And I could taste the littlest of our memories;
That are as sweet as the honey,
And nostalgic as my childhood bed.

You are my lifeline —
The very reason for my existence;
You are the hot chocolate on a rainy weather —
Full of love and calm, a home.

Sometimes, in the quiet of the night,
When the world is asleep,
I would let myself wonder,
What you felt when our eyes met.

Did you feel the same?
In a crowded room,
When we were surrounded by prying eyes,
Have you tried searching for my presence?

Or am I like the clock in everybody's home:
Always there, but no one tried looking at it.
You looked at me once,
And never dared again.

How bittersweet to know,
All these other girls you've loved but me,
All these other boys I have met, and I only want you.
Where is cupid when I want to steal his bow?

I never fathomed how you become my peace,
When you are as well my chaos?
Mayhaps I have loved feeling both,
And perhaps I am not sane at all.

Fiction.
